Trans-Ocean Products, Inc. opened its doors in the fall of 1985. Our location in Bellingham, Washington was selected for its proximity to the cold, clean waters of Alaska from which our key raw materials are sourced. In an area known for its fresh air, beautiful coastline and mountain views, we also found a skilled and committed work force that has proven to be the very foundation of our success.
Along the course of our 30+ years in business, we have established a distinct personality, something that grew out of our early management team and is now part of our corporate DNA. Call it a mixture of high expectations without taking ourselves too seriously.
The making of the best surimi seafood begins with quality ingredients. We typically use surimi made from high quality Alaska Pollock which is caught in the cold waters of the Bering Sea and the Gulf of Alaska.
Our Bellingham facility has been recognized and certified for meeting the industry’s highest standards for food safety, including “AA Level” certification from BRC, the highest global standard for food safety. We are also proud that our facility is certified gluten-free, an important transition we undertook in 2014.
Trans-Ocean benefits from a streamlined supply chain that provides a consistent supply of the highest quality raw materials. Sister companies operate factory fishing vessels in the North Pacific Ocean and off-loading and surimi block processing facilities in Dutch Harbor, Alaska. Vertical integration allows us to serve our customers more efficiently.
