FOOD SAFETY IS OUR TOP PRIORITY, ESPECIALLY NOW.
Trans-Ocean Products, Inc. is proud to be a part of the ongoing effort to keep North America supplied with safe, high quality food during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Customers can continue to rely on our array of surimi seafood products for the highest safety and quality. According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), there is NO evidence of food or food packaging being associated with transmission of the coronavirus. Trans-Ocean’s family of products carry an added layer of security because each sealed, finished package is pasteurized. Pasteurization is a high temperature heat treatment that effectively controls all potential pathogens and ensures product safety throughout the product shelf life. Even if the coronavirus were able to live in food, it would never be able to survive our pasteurization process.
The health of the general public and each Trans-Ocean employee is of paramount importance and our company is taking strong measures to ensure that neither is at risk. In the midst of rapid developments in best practice for infection prevention, public policy changes and changes in rate of spread of the virus itself, a task force meets every morning to ensure that Trans-Ocean is taking the strictest measures possible. All sanitizing agents have been reviewed to ensure that they are approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for use against SARS-CoV-2 (the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19). Sanitizing measures have been dramatically increased. Social distancing measures have been implemented throughout the company including on the production floor and physical barriers are being constructed to provide further protection. Administrative employees are encouraged to work from home. Employee travel has been suspended indefinitely. The company has created and implemented an emergency pandemic response plan to handle every possible. All protocols have been carefully vetted to ensure that they are consistent with the most current direction from the CDC, FDA and public health department. Our employees are being carefully screened for illness according to CDC guidelines. Visitors are not allowed entrance to the facility except for critical material and supplier service vendors that are carefully screened and supervised by Tran-Ocean employees. Our procurement team is in constant contact with all material suppliers to ensure that Trans-Ocean can receive the essential ingredients, packaging, equipment and other supplies to throughout the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Trans-Ocean Products family wishes you and your family the best of health during this difficult time.
