Wild Alaska Pollock – Healthy, Delicious, Sustainable and …. Climate Friendly!
A July 2021 scientific study conducted for the Association of Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers (GAPP) has found that Wild Alaska Pollock is one of the most climate-smart proteins in the world. A comprehensive Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) by the sustainability consultancy Quantis proved that surimi made from Wild Alaska Pollock has a far lower carbon impact compared to other proteins such as beef, chicken, pork, plant-based foods and many other seafoods.
Trans-Ocean is proud to use 100% Wild Alaska Pollock Surimi to make our Crab Classic, Simply Surimi and Seafood Snacker product lines. Wild Alaska Pollock is a certified sustainable and carefully managed seafood that is harvested in an environmentally responsible manner.
We are also excited to be working together with GAPP and other seafood companies to raise the profile of Wild Alaska Pollock as a high quality seafood that is delicious as a filet, in breaded applications and, most importantly to us, as the main ingredient in our surimi seafood products. Wild Alaska Pollock is the perfect protein; it’s nutritious and delicious with a mild flavor that many consumers prefer for its versatility in many different recipes.
