Sushi rice is shaped into burger buns for sandwiching these crabby burgers.
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes (+ 30 minutes standing time)
Serves: 2
Ingredients
2 cups cooked sushi rice
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp granulated sugar
½ tsp salt
3 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tbsp teriyaki sauce
1/2 avocado, peeled and sliced
1/2 carrot, peeled into ribbons
1/2 mini cucumber, peeled into ribbons
4 pieces Crab Classic*, Leg Style, cut in half lengthwise
1/4 tsp toasted sesame seeds
Directions
Coat four small 4-inch shallow bowls with cooking spray.
In medium bowl, stir together sushi rice, rice vinegar, sugar and salt. Pack each prepared bowl with 1/2 cup rice. Cover with plastic wrap and press evenly into bowl. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
In small bowl, stir together mayonnaise and teriyaki sauce; refrigerate until ready to use.
Remove rice mixture from 2 bowls and transfer each to a plate for bottom halves of burger “buns.” Spread with teriyaki mayo. Top with avocado, carrot, cucumber and crab. Cap with remaining rice mixture “buns” from bowls. Garnish with sesame seeds.
Tips:
Serve sushi burgers with soy sauce, pickled ginger and wasabi if desired.
Use a Y-shaped peeler to cut carrots and cucumbers into ribbons. If preferred, cut carrots and cucumbers into matchsticks.
*Note: Crab Classic can be replaced by Crab Supreme or Simply Surimi in any of our recipes.
